From the beginning of his speech, the president used the platform to highlight an alleged economic renaissance and reaffirm his agenda on controversial issues such as migration, international conflicts and trade wars.
In a triumphant manner, he claimed that, for the first time in modern history, more Americans believe the country is heading in the right direction. He pointed to a notable surge in business optimism, citing a “41-point jump in one month,” which he called a record-breaking figure.

Regarding the trade war, which saw the imposition of tariffs of up to 25% on Canada, China, and Mexico this Tuesday, Trump declared, “On April 2, reciprocal tariffs will take effect. Any taxes imposed on us or other countries, we will apply tariffs to them in return.”
